The Columbus Community Film/Lecture Series invite you to view the three-part film" Race: The Power of an Illusion."
The Columbus Community Film/Lecture Series sponsored by the African American Fund, The Heritage Fund, The Columbus Human Rights Commission, Universalist Unitarian Columbus Congregation, the Friends of the Bartholomew County Public Library, and supporting community organizations invite you to view the three-part film Race: The Power of an Illusion, and then participate in a discussion. The Difference Between Us "examines how recent scientific discoveries have toppled the concept of biological race.” “The roots of the race concept, including the 19th-century science that legitimated it and the hold it has gained over our minds,” is covered in The Story We Tell. The House We Live In “focuses on how our institutions shape and create race, giving different groups vastly unequal life chances.” You can view the films for free. You have 72 hours to view each film. All you need is a library card. Just go to https://mybcpl.kanopy.com, set up an account, and type in race the power an illusion. If you need a library card, go to mybcpl.org and My Account. From there you can obtain a Digital Only Card, thus giving you access to Kanopy. Register for the discussion below.
