Ray E. Boomhower, senior editor of the Indiana Historical Society Press, talks about his latest book "To Be Hoosiers: Historic Stories of Character & Fortitude." The book captures the Hoosier spirit and covers events such as Robert F. Kennedy’s Indianapolis speech after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the arrest of Black aviators at Seymour’s Freeman Field during World War II attempting to enter a segregated officers club, and Amelia Earhart’s time at Purdue as a career counselor for female students. The Main Library is located in the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library in downtown Columbus at 536 Fifth Street. Completed in 1969 and designed by architect I.M.
