Red Room, Zoom 1Join Dr. Pamela Morris (IU Columbus) & Carole Nowicke (University Library) in a community discussion of free speech, hate speech, and conflict.
In many communities, including ours, debates about free speech, hate speech, and censorship have dominated social media, school and library board meetings, and the news. Conflict seems to grab and keep attention, especially online. This session will mix presentation and discussion as we explore the facts about free speech and hate speech as well as delving into the way conflict works to dominate social media.
