Join us on the Library Plaza for a concert by Southern Indiana Taiko. Bring your own chairs. This event can also be viewed live at facebook.com/mybcpl.
Southern Indiana Taiko is a high-energy performance drum group that studies the art of Japanese drumming from Taiko masters in Japan and teachers in North America. Their show consists of large drums combined with choreographed movements and kiai (shouts of energy and encouragement). They perform shows and give workshops at festivals, marathons, corporate functions, International celebrations, schools, libraries, and private venues throughout Indiana and neighboring states and are the only all-female performance taiko group in the Midwest and much of the United States. They also offer private family/friends taiko experiences, team-building workshops, and weekly taiko lessons for children, teens, and adults at our studio in Columbus, IN.
