Joshua Becker, author of four books on minimalism, shares steps you can take to lead a simpler life. He believes that consumerism becomes excessive when it extends beyond what is needed. Escaping excessive consumerism has benefits such as less debt, less environmental impact, and less time caring for possessions. Eliminating these can lead to more generosity and more contentment. Becker’s aim is to intentionally remind others there is more joy in pursuing less than can be found in pursuing more. The Main Library is located in the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library in downtown Columbus at 536 Fifth Street. Completed in 1969 and designed by architect I.M. Pei, it features library collections for children, teens, and adults. It also houses the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives, Family and Local History collection, and BCPL Create studio.
