Guy Gruters, a Vietnam War POW for more than five years, was one of the 591 surviving POWs of all military services released in 1973 during Operation Homecoming. He will talk about how he survived those years while bringing a message of leadership, teamwork, resilience, and forgiveness. Gruters graduated from the Air Force Academy, received his Masters Degree from Purdue and went to Vietnam in 1966 after receiving his flight wings. For his service, Gruters received two silver stars, two distinguished flying crosses, one bronze star for valor, two purple hearts, and over 20 air medals.
