Join library staff members Shelly and Maria for a book discussion. This month book is When Stars Rain Down is a novel by Angela Jackson-Brown.

The book follows the story of a young Black woman named Opal Pruitt who experiences a life-changing summer in 1936 
 
Opal's life is turned upside down when the Ku Klux Klan attacks her neighborhood, forcing the town's residents to confront the unspoken rules of their post-Reconstruction era. Opal must deal with love, loss, and a harsh awakening, while also holding onto her faith and family

About the branch

The Main Library is located in the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library in downtown Columbus at 536 Fifth Street. Completed in 1969 and designed by architect I.M. Pei, it features library collections for children, teens, and adults. It also houses the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives, Family and Local History collection, and BCPL Create studio.
