New Site, New Brand

The new logo for our library system is a modernization of a logo created by local designer John Squadra, used during the early years of the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library, opened in 1969.

“The four circles symbolize some of the diverse functions of the library but do not represent any specific areas of library service…. The quadrants represent the four compass directions served in the county by the central library.”

“The intersecting lines at the center represent the library’s central location as a disseminator of knowledge, culture, and ideas going out to all.”

New Mission Statement

A new mission statement was also adopted to emphasize our unique role in the community to be the community connection point and as an educational resource for all.  It reads: The Bartholomew County Public Library is the community crossroads— connecting people, information, ideas, and experiences to empower everyone on their journey of lifelong learning.

A shortened version or tagline also was adopted: Community Crossroads for Lifelong Learning.
