Historian and librarian Laura Keyes presents an illustrated program on the “behind the scenes” story of the Hershey Chocolate Company. Today the name Hershey is synonymous with quality milk chocolate. Milton S. Hershey worked hard and failed often before his chocolate company was finally successful. And when he did become a household name and had earned a vast fortune, Milton and his wife Catherine decided to give it all away, helping tens of thousands of orphans who were saved, protected, and educated. The Main Library is located in the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library in downtown Columbus at 536 Fifth Street. Completed in 1969 and designed by architect I.M. Pei, it features library collections for children, teens, and adults. It also houses the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives, Family and Local History collection, and BCPL Create studio.
